About Me
I am an avid traveler embarking on my second career journey. Teaching, for me, is a calling that I did not initially heed. But, after a three and a half-year detour down the path of business, I have finally responded to that calling, and I am more sure than ever that the field of education is where I am meant to be.
I have had a 13-year love affair with the Spanish language, which has led me to study in Spain, work in Chile, volunteer in Guatemala, and travel throughout Argentina and Peru. These experiences have given me as much of an appreciation for the cultures of these countries as they have for the language, and I cannot wait to share my passions with my future Spanish students.
Despite my love for Spanish, my travels around the world have impressed upon me just how fortunate I am to speak English natively, and they have compelled me to share that gift with others. During my time in Guatemala, I taught English classes to Guatemalan teens, and I found the experience to be incredibly rewarding. As such, I am obtaining my ESL licensure with plans to teach English both here in the U.S. and abroad.
